What is the Latest CRS Score for the Express Entry Provincial Nominee Program Draw?

By Harkiran Singh Sidhu March 30, 2026

On March 30, 2026, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a targeted Express Entry draw exclusively for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates, issuing 356 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to individuals with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 802.

Summary:

  • Draw Date: March 30, 2026

  • Draw Type: Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

  • ITAs Issued: 356

  • Minimum CRS Score: 802

  • Tie-breaking Rule: Profiles must have been created before February 12, 2026, at 3:54 a.m. UTC. (This means that if two candidates had identical CRS scores of 802, only those whose profiles were submitted before this exact date and time received an ITA.)

  • Year-to-Date Trend: CEC and French-language draws currently account for over 84% of all 2026 ITAs issued.

How Does a Provincial Nomination Affect Your CRS Score?

A standard express entry Canada profile is scored based on human capital factors like age, education, language skills, and work experience. However, securing a provincial nomination adds an automatic 600 points to your base CRS score.

Because the minimum score for this draw was 802, it means the lowest-ranking candidate actually had a base human capital score of just 202 before their provincial nomination was applied. This highlights how a PNP is one of the most powerful tools to secure an ITA, especially for candidates who may be losing points due to age or lower language scores.

What is IRCC’s Current Express Entry Pattern for 2026?

Today’s draw marks another targeted selection for the year, and the data suggests a consistent pattern: IRCC appears to be prioritizing candidates already residing within Canada or those who meet specific demographic needs.

Out of the 54,406 ITAs issued this year, the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) leads with 28,000 invitations, followed by French-Language proficiency at 18,000. For standard federal skilled workers outside of Canada without French proficiency or a provincial nomination, the pathway remains highly competitive.

What If Your CRS Score is Below 802?

If you are in the Express Entry pool without a provincial nomination, an 802 minimum score is mathematically impossible to reach based on human capital alone (which caps at 600). If you have not yet secured a PNP, your focus should be on maximizing your base score and expanding your eligibility:

  • Target a Provincial Nomination: Explore streams in Ontario (OINP) or other provinces that align with your work experience and current location.

  • Improve Language Proficiency: Retaking your IELTS/CELPIP, or beginning French language training, can unlock entirely new draw categories (like the French-language proficiency draws).

  • Accumulate Canadian Experience: If you are on a temporary work permit, hitting the one-year mark of skilled Canadian work experience will significantly boost your profile and make you eligible for CEC-specific draws.
