The latest draw continues a consistent pattern in Canada’s 2026 Express Entry system: provincial nominees remain an important part of federal economic immigration selection.

For candidates in Ontario, the result is particularly relevant because an Express Entry-aligned provincial nomination can add 600 CRS points to an eligible candidate’s profile.

However, a provincial nomination does not itself guarantee permanent residence. Candidates must remain eligible under Express Entry and ultimately receive an invitation from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Latest Express Entry PNP Draw at a Glance

The CRS requirement is much higher than scores seen in Canadian Experience Class or many category-based draws because candidates invited through an Express Entry-aligned PNP generally receive an additional 600 CRS points after accepting their provincial nomination.

Why Was the CRS Cut-Off 760?

A CRS cut-off of 760 may appear extremely high when compared with recent CEC, French-language or occupation-based rounds.

The reason is the provincial nomination bonus.

IRCC awards an Express Entry candidate 600 additional CRS points after an eligible provincial nomination is accepted in the Express Entry system.

This is why PNP-specific Express Entry rounds should not be directly compared with a regular CEC or category-based cut-off.

The candidates competing in a PNP round have already completed a significant additional step: securing a nomination from a province or territory.

How Does This Compare With the Previous PNP Draw?

The previous Provincial Nominee Program round on August 4 invited 507 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 768.

The latest CRS cut-off fell by 8 points compared with the August 4 PNP round, while the number of invitations decreased from 507 to 442.

That movement should not be treated as a prediction of the next PNP cut-off. IRCC determines the type of round and number of invitations before identifying the highest-ranking eligible candidates.

Express Entry Has Held 47 Draws in 2026

Based on the draw history supplied for this update, the latest round brings the number of Express Entry selection rounds conducted in 2026 to 47.

The draw pattern has been highly segmented rather than relying on one type of general invitation round.

IRCC’s official 2026 category structure includes French-language proficiency, healthcare and social services, STEM, trades, education, transport, physicians with Canadian experience, senior managers with Canadian experience, researchers with Canadian experience and skilled military recruits.

More Than 113,000 Express Entry ITAs Issued in 2026

What Does the PNP Draw Mean for Ontario Candidates?

Ontario candidates should separate two questions:

2. Do I have a realistic provincial nomination pathway?

A candidate can be eligible for Express Entry without having a provincial nomination. Likewise, simply living or working in Ontario does not automatically make someone eligible for an Ontario nomination.
